Ayamonte wins top prize
Ayamonte is the only town in Andalucia, and one of the 12 in the whole of Spain to be awarded the Green Flag prize in all five catagories.
The prize, given by the Independant Federation of Consumers is an annual award and is at its 10th edition, was presented in Madrid.

The prize is awarded to communities in five different catagories: waste collection and cleaness, energy consumation and contamination, ambiental education and citizen participation, water management and lastly ambiental commitment.
Andalucia was the Cummunity with the most prize-winning towns (17) followed by Galicia (11), País Vasco (8), Madrid (7), Valencia, Castilla and León (6), Canarias (5),
Cataluña and Asturias (4), Castilla la Mancha (3), Cantabria, Murcia and Baleares (2) Navarra and Aragón (1).
The 12 towns winning the prize in all five catagories are Alcalá de Henares, Alcobendas and Leganés (Madrid), Benissa and Teulada-Moraira (Alicante), Santander and
Castro Urdiales (Cantabria), La Eliana (Valencia), Alcudia (Mallorca), Ayamonte (Huelva), Noain (Navarra) y Ponferrada (León).
