The Pilgrimage of El Rocio is one of the most popular festivals and important religious and parts of Spain. Takes place the weekend of Sunday Pentescostés in Ermita del Rocio, Huelva in the town of Almonte. Attracts visitors from around the world, both for its religious significance for all the traditional folklore that is associated with: horses, floats, costumes, meals in the field, etc..

But for the pilgrims El Rocío begins some days before. This year, with Sunday set Pentescostés on May 30, the pilgrims begin their journey a week before (as the distance that each fraternity is) on May 24, beginning a pilgrimage that involves spend four nights in path. A portion of the road is made in vehicles, and when the target is close is performed on carts pulled by oxen or horses, and walking.

To make the trip is properly needed foodstuffs and supplies, and go together. This contact with some of the Fraternity that each year make the journey.
After arriving to El Rocío, on Saturday celebrated the 30th presentation of the Fraternity to the shrine of the Virgen del Rocío. Usually last from 12 noon to 10 pm, in order to make the top 100 guilds that exist today.
At twelve o'clock on Saturday takes place in Rosario Almonte, where a procession almonteños invite all guilds to participate in the Greater Rosario Sunday. The next morning we celebrate the Holy Mass Pontifial, by the Bishop of Huelva. After the Rosary is held and after, waiting until two or four o'clock on Monday, in which the procession. Here one of the most spectacular is the arrival of pilgrims to the shrine. It is then that the "jump gate" and the waiters pushed by the crowd entering the shrine to get the Virgin in procession.
After the pilgrimage, there is still the way back, the farewell to the chapel and the Coto de Doñana, and promise to return the following year. Even for those who are not religious spectacle of Rocío not let them indifferent.
