Nearest British Consulate New Hours
For those Britons living on the Costa de la Luz, rather than travelling to Malaga, it may be more convenient for them to visit the British Consulate in Portimão, on the Portuguese Algarve, which is extending its opening hours to the public from January 2, 2007. The following information may prove useful over the Christmas, New Year and other holiday times involving extensive travelling, particularly the out-of-hours emergency number.
From 2 January, Public Opening Hours will be:
Monday to Friday 9.30am-12.30pm and 2.30pm-4.30pm
The Consulate’s Office Working Hours will be:
Monday to Friday 9am-1pm and 2pm-5pm

Please also note that the Consulate does not accept visa or passport applications. These should be sent direct to the Embassy in Lisbon with the appropriate fee. Application forms for both can be downloaded from www.britishembassy.gov.uk. Applicants who do not have access to the Internet may collect application forms from the Consulate.
