Dampened Tiger at Japan
Tiger Woods and Padraig Harrington are tied for the lead heading into the final round of the Dunlop Phoenix tournament at Phoenix Country Club, Japan. The duo both sit on 6-under-par after bad weather caused plenty of problems on day three.

Lara Leading at Hong Kong Open
Jose Manuel Lara heads into the final round of the UBS Hong Kong Open , with a 2-shot cushioned lead over the rest of the field. The Spaniard moved a step closer to a first-ever win on the European Tour - thanks to a 4-under-par round of 66 at at the Hong Kong Club, Fanling.
Four birdies helped the 29-year-old move to 14-under for the tournament and maintain his place at the top of the leaderboard - a slot he has held since the end of the first day.

Ashes team change
Duncan Fletcher has indicated that England will begin their defence of this year's Ashes tournament with 5 bowlers. Concerns over Andrew Flintoff's ability to bowl for long periods mean that the England skipper is sure to be offered support from 3 seamers as well as a left-arm spinner. |

Victory cloaks major failing
At the Valderrama club-house during the Ryder Cup presentation marking the close of the European Tour, George O’Grady, the executive director of the Tour, beginning a speech of thanks to his hosts, begged the indulgence of those present while he sought out a friend - then picked up the Ryder Cup, to voluble applause. The Ryder Cup is the biggest financial vehicle that drives the European Tour. It attracts sponsors and showcases the game. The victory at the K Club last month was a timely financial bonus for the Tour, marking the most successful Ryder Cup ever.
